Life in the UK: First a push to ban knives, may be now a ban on BB guns

The attack came on the day the Western Daily Press revealed the growing threat to the public from a huge increase in the possession of imitation guns that fire gas propelled pellets or ball bearings.

And it highlighted how police forces across the country are increasingly called out to deal with firearm incidents involving replica guns.

Home Secretary Charles Clarke has promised a review of gun laws relating to air guns that are impossible to tell from the real weapons from which they are copied.
