John Lovitz on Hannity

"What I find is he's hypocritical with saying, you know, 'the 1% don't get us,' and he's a multi-millionaire now. 'You know, they're not paying their fair share of taxes, now I'm going over to George Clooney's house to get money from millionaires and billionaires,' and he collected $15 million." "Instead of making people victims of people who are successful, we should be telling people look you are having a hard time I feel bad for you, let's look at how you can succeed, let's give you the tools to succeed. Instead of turning everybody into victims. A victim mentality is what he is selling."
Something for the dumb criminal file

Something for the dumb criminal file

This is a pretty funny case. Possibly this will be used to handle other robbers.

Despite 30 years of practice, Nathan Wayne Pugh still hasn't quite gotten the whole crime thing down.

His "robbery" of the Wells Fargo Bank in the 4200 block of Lemmon Avenue on July 26 is making the rounds among local police and federal agents.

"It's almost unheard of," FBI spokesman Mark White said of Pugh's tactics.

Police say that at about lunchtime on that Monday, the 49-year-old Sachse man walked into the bank and approached a teller. At the time, he had been out of prison for a year, on parole for aggravated robbery.

Pugh informed the teller he wanted to "make a withdrawal," according to a federal criminal complaint. When she asked him how much, he passed her a scrap of paper. He was carrying a Whataburger bag.

"This is not a bag of food," the note said, adding that the bag contained a "bom." The note further ordered her to "put money in an envelope and do not make any move till after I have left for ten minutes."

The teller, who police said was a recent hire, remained calm. She told Pugh she would need his identification in order to give him any money.

He pulled out his Wells Fargo debit card and handed it to her.

"How much would you like back?" she asked. "Two thousand," he said.

The teller told him that, to get that much money, he would need to show her a second form of identification. Pugh then gave her a state of Texas ID card, bearing his name.

As she took his card, she pressed the silent alarm at her teller station. She then informed him that she only had $900 in her cash drawer, but that she could go to the back of the bank to get more money.

Pugh elected to take the $900, which he tucked into his shirt pocket. He remembered to get his debit card and ID back, police said. . . .

Some hot shooting fun

Normally I wouldn't put these types of shots up, but this is pretty entertaining.

Should we ban Champagne?

Should we ban Champagne?

Who knew that there were 20 million bubbles of carbon dioxide in a bottle of champagne? Is that bottle of champagne really worth the horrible damage that it will do to the world's environment? Hopefully some very intelligent politician will see this danger and just simply ban champagne. Possibly they can add Coke and other soft drinks to the list also.

I worry a little bit that by raising this issue someone will take it seriously.
Top 10 Reasons Why the US Lost the Chicago Olympics Bid

Top 10 Reasons Why the US Lost the Chicago Olympics Bid

From an anonymous email.

10. Dead people can’t vote at IOC meetings
9. Obama distracted by 25 min meeting with Gen. McChrystal
8. Who cares if Obama couldn’t talk the IOC into Chicago? He’ll be able to talk Iran out of nukes.
7. The impediment is Israel still building settlements.
6. Obviously no president would have been able to acomplish it.
5. We’ve been quite clear and said all along that we didn’t want the Olympics.
4. This isn’t about the number of Olympics “lost”, it’s about the number of Olympics “saved” or “created”.
3. Clearly not enough wise Latina judges on the committee
2. Because the IOC is racist.
1. It’s George Bush’s fault.
The most difficult restaurant in the US to get reservations?

The most difficult restaurant in the US to get reservations?

Here is an article on the five most difficult restaurants to get reservations. The most difficult is Rao's in New York.

Frank Pelligrino, owner of Rao's, has a nickname: "Frankie No." You would have better luck getting invited to dinner at the White House than getting a proper reservation at this wiseguy Italian joint, and this is because tables at Rao’s are not so much reserved as controlled. They’re paid for an entire year in advance, so to speak, like season tickets, and just like you can’t sit in the owners’ box at Yankee Stadium via any sort of public market, you can't really get into Rao's either. A table for four at 8 p.m. every Tuesday, say, will cost you between $1,000 and $25,000 annually, depending on who you are — and that's just for the table, not including food. Some season ticket holders have been Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, and Bill Clinton. And Frankie Fingers. Of course, there are loose tables around, but those, too, are doled out via unlisted phone numbers, or perhaps you can score one if you know someone. But maybe you’re better off not knowing those kinds of people, capisce?

Finally an air safety movie worth watching

Finally an air safety movie worth watching

This one actually got me to watch it, and I had stopped watching these years ago when I flew on planes. Possibly it was that the flight attendants and pilot just worn body paint in addition to their shoes and possible hat.
