The fact that John Donohue's own research does not show any statistically significant increase in violent crime after right-to-carry laws are passed apparently doesn't stop him from claiming that to the media. A nice discussion of Ayres and Donohue's results can be found here. The estimates range from not finding any affect of the law to those finding large drops in violent crime rates. That doesn't stop Donohue, though. Of course, it would be nice if he decided to show up for scheduled debates (see the posts for 11-30-04 and 4-7-05, an additional attempt to set up a debate is discussed here: 5-7-05).
